A Return Counter is used with the Trap Card "Diminishing Returns" to designate how many times a Monster has attacked. Battle damage inflicted by that Monster is reduced to an amount divided by two times the number of Counters on it. When "Diminishing Returns" leaves the field, all Return Counters are removed.
